The point of contention then becomes the nature of the mini game. That being said, it is clear to see now why they opted for a "mini game" element to The Curse Returns instead of doing what Marmalade normally do which is a more faithful adaptation to the actual board game. I purchased the Jumanji board game in the wooden box not long ago and I can say with all certainty that without real stampeding animals and Van Pelt chasing after you, it's just a simple and boring board game. Jumanji as a board game, outside of the context of the film, is incredibly boring. I knew once I saw the game featured at Gamescom that it would not be taken seriously in most circles. Jumanji: The Curse Returns is definitely a game that will divide its players.
